David Murphy
David founded Stanhope Framers in 1972, taking the company name from its original Back Bay street address. He is a close friend to many artists, museum curators, and art gallery owners throughout the United States. He is also an art benefactor, having donated both artwork and framing services to many local and national charity events, including local and regional arts organizations, gallery benefits, and many ARTcetera AIDS Action fund-raising events. He merged his Stanhope Framers with The Old Cambridge Company in 1993 to create New England’s most prestigious, comprehensive and experienced source for fine framing needs.

Jamie Griffith
Jamie is a 1991 graduate of Chapman University where he received his BFA degree in Design. He has also studied design at King Alfredís College, Westminster, England. Jamie joined Stanhope Framers in 1992 as a sales person in the Back Bay Boston Marlborough Street store. He has worked at the Bow Street Somerville facility since 1997. His other interests include golfing, amateur league baseball, and playing music in a few Boston-based rock bands.

Jamie “Jay” Grassmann:
Jamie “Jay” Grassmann has been in the framing business in the Washington D.C. area and Boston for more than 15 years. He has also worked at several museums in the D.C. area; The Museum for Women in the Arts, Hirshhorn Museum of Modern Art, Smithsonian Museum of American Art

John O’Brien
John studied printmaking at the University of Florida and the Graphic Arts Workshop in San Francisco. While living in New Orleans he ran his own gallery space and also exhibited in several local venues. John has been with Stanhope Framers since 1977. With his long experience in various aspects of the framing industry and his background in art, he looks forward to meeting new people and giving their art the attention it deserves.

Richard Siegel
Richard graduated from Kenyon College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and afterwards spent time as a printmaker in New York City. In 1983 he joined the Old Cambridge Company and remained there until its merger with Stanhope Framers in 1993. Richard is the go-to guy at Stanhope Framers. He is familiar with every aspect of both sales and production. He has an
excellent eye for color and design and brings his training as an artist into play with outstanding results for his customers.
